Speech Day Competition on Iqbal Day
Organized by Alam Welfare Trust
Alam Welfare Trust (Humanitarian Foundation) organized a Speech Day Competition in observance of Iqbal Day to honor the intellectual and spiritual legacy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal. The event was designed not merely as a ceremonial gathering but as an opportunity for students to engage deeply with Iqbal’s philosophy and its relevance to modern society. The focus remained on promoting awareness of selfhood, discipline, education, and social responsibility.
The primary objective of the competition was to strengthen students’ confidence, critical thinking, and public speaking abilities. Participants delivered speeches on themes such as Iqbal’s concept of Khudi, the role of youth in nation-building, the value of education, and the vision of a progressive and self-reliant Pakistan. By addressing these topics, students were encouraged to reflect thoughtfully on their responsibilities as future leaders.
Students from local schools and colleges participated enthusiastically, and the competition was arranged in age-based categories to ensure fair evaluation. A panel of respected educators and community representatives assessed the participants based on content quality, clarity of ideas, delivery, and understanding of Iqbal’s message.
Summary
Winners were honored with shields, certificates, and appreciation prizes, while all participants received certificates in recognition of their efforts. The event concluded with a collective message emphasizing unity, awareness, and constructive action inspired by Iqbal’s teachings. Through this initiative, Alam Welfare Trust reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment, educational growth, and meaningful community engagement
