Pakistan is facing a serious challenge to ensure all children, particularly the most disadvantaged, attend, learn and stay in school. While enrollment and retention rates are improving, progress has been slow to improve education indicators in Pakistan. Currently, Pakistan has the world’s second-highest number of out-of-school children with an estimated 22-26 million children aged 5-16 not attending school, representing 44 percent of the total population in this age group.
Children in rural areas do not have access to education due to a number of reasons. Education for girls is even a bigger issue. Rationally speaking, we cannot expect a progressive Pakistan with such a poor state of education in the country. Alam Welfare trust was created to provide an equal opportunity of obtaining free cost quality education for the children of underprivileged families residing in rural areas of Pakistan.
The country continues to face a severe shortage of healthcare facilities, particularly in villages and remote areas. To help bridge this gap, our trust successfully launched a dispensary in 2025. This facility provides free healthcare to the local community in Ali Langah.
